Why Dawkins would be considered a respectable atheist, while he mostly attacking people like himself?

i'm a little confused on ur question, but i have a professor who has sat down and debated with Dawkins. paraphrasing what my prof. said Dawkins ''is harsh in his writing but very cordial and polite in conversation and easy to debate with."
