154 grain bullet from 7.62x39 into 7.62x54?

I have an sks and Mosin nagant 91/30. I was curious to know if loading a 7.62x54 cartridge with a 154 grain SP from the 7.62x39 would be possible or give any improvements in longer range perfomance.
